Our school community came together on March 20 for an unforgettable Black History Celebration filled with powerful performances, creativity, and pride. Students across all grade levels showcased their talents through singing, dancing, poetry, and historical interpretations, including a moving 8th grade reenactment of Rosa Parks featuring a replica bus. The program also highlighted influential Black leaders, incorporated our school’s affirmation in meaningful ways, and featured outstanding musical performances by the band. From 6th grade presentations to a science segment honoring Black pioneers in medical advancements, the event was a heartfelt and inspiring tribute to Black history, culture, and achievement.

Anniston Middle School gifted students recently visited the Southern Museum of Flight in Birmingham, where they explored aviation history with a focus on Alabama’s contributions. A highlight of the trip was learning about the Tuskegee Airmen and their impact on history. Students also examined aircraft up close and participated in hands-on activities, building and flying model planes. The experience combined history, science, and fun, making it both educational and memorable.

We are excited to invite all parents to join us for lunch on March 20th at 1:00 PM as part of our Parent Engagement Program. The Big Chef Kitchen Food Truck will be on site serving lunch starting at 1:00 PM, giving families time to enjoy a meal together before the program officially begins at 2:00 PM. The menu has been posted, including all prices for your convenience. We look forward to spending this time connecting with you and sharing an afternoon of food, conversation, and community.
